Murder Mystery Quilt Fabric

February 15, 2019Elizabeth

I chose my fabric for the Murder Mystery Quilt! I’m really excited about it – now I get to do my first block and read the first chapter!

Also, for anyone who needs metric-driven success: I didn’t have anywhere to put the fabric so I decided to make a One-Hour basket. In the past these have taken me a half a day – but this one took one hour!

Shopping for this fabric also was a personal journey. One reason I love quilting is that it feeds my introvert self – I can hang out for hours with just me, my sewing machine, and my seam ripper. But sometimes I wish that I felt comfortable talking to strangers.

The day I bought my fabric, the quilt shop was crazy crowded and I turned into a turtle. While I was in my shell, I overheard a lady telling the staff that she was working on the Murder Mystery Quilt and I didn’t turn around and say, “me too!” I wish I was that person and that I had had a bonding moment.

(I did tell the staff what I was doing when they were cutting my fabric – but I’m a regular and felt comfortable about it.)

I guess this blog is a first step in being less introverted about quilting.
