I’m a nerd, a quilter, and a wine-lover (the order changes depending on the day).

My mom sewed a lot of my clothes when I was a child and so a few years ago when I decided to make a t-shirt quilt to clean out my closet it didn’t seem insane to buy a sewing machine and go for it.

And so my journey began. I honestly thought I’d make one quilt and then move on to occasionally making clothes like my mom and best friend. But I discovered I love the endless possibilities of quilting and the mathematical precision of getting a quilt top together (nerd, remember?).

I started this blog because:

1. I still feel a little bit like a grandma when I talk about what I’m doing and don’t share with everyone. Plus I’m an introvert. But then some people tell me that they are upset I haven’t told them what I’m up to. So I wanted to have a safe place where people who want to know can find me.
2. A lot of what I’ve learned comes from how-to blogs and tutorials where everything looks perfect. I want to share what happens when the seams don’t come out straight (whether or not you have a glass of wine in your hand).
